NOTICE OF GENERAL COUNCIL MEETING  1920 September, 18

NOTICE!

To the Indians of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation

A General Council of the Indians of the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation is hereby called to convene in the Government Warehouse at Reserve on September 30th, 1920 at 2 O’clock PM.

This council is called at the request of the Wisconsin-Minnesota Light & Power Company who desire again to discuss with you the matter of obtaining flowage rights on certain tribal lands within the reservation.  It appears that further legislation has been passed by Congress and approved by the President and the discussion will be of considerable interest to all of you. I trust, therefore, that there will be a good attendance at this Council, and that all the villages and settlements will be well represented.
